Elbit Systems is an international defense electronics company engaged in a wide range of programs throughout the world. The Company, which includes Elbit Systems and its subsidiaries, operates in the areas of aerospace, land and naval systems, command, control, communications, computers, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance ("C4ISR"), unmanned aircraft systems ("UAS"), advanced electro-optics, electro-optic space systems, EW suites, airborne warning systems, ELINT systems, data links and military communications systems and radios. The Company also focuses on the upgrading of existing military platforms, developing new technologies for defense, homeland security and commercial aviation applications and providing a range of support services. Raanan Horowitz has been Chief Executive Officer and President of Elbit Systems Of America (ESA), a subsidiary of Elbit Systems since October 2007. Mr. Horowitz serves as a Consultant on the U.S. Army Science Board. He joined the Elbit Group in 1989. Raanan Horowitz held various management positions with EFW and other U.S. subsidiaries including Senior Program Manager for Elbit and Executive Vice President and General Manager of EFW. He was involved in managing the provision of mission critical systems to various defense platforms and programs for the U.S. armed forces. Prior to that, he served an Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of EFW and also served as its Vice President of Operations and Vice President of the Ground Systems Business Unit. Raanan Horowitz serves as a Director of Elbit Systems Of America. He serves as a member of the national board of directors of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He serves as a Member of Board of Governors at Aerospace Industries Association. Raanan Horowitz holds an MBA from the Seidman School of Business of Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tel-Aviv University.
